Stock N Lock needed a redesign of their outdated site which they felt didn’t deliver the strong user journey they wanted or deliver fast and accurate information their customers needed.

The challenge

Storage centres need to be easy and convenient to use for their customers and self-storage websites need to be the same!  Stock N Lock realised they needed a redesign of their existing site as it didn’t create a clear and easy visitor experience or consistently return the right information to customers for storage options.

As Pentangle is well versed in the self-storage sector and already provide and integrate self-storage quote systems – we were already singing from the same hymn-sheet to create a purpose driven, user-centred, and updated website for them.

The approach

Pentangle challenged the existing thinking about visitor experience. Working with Stock N Lock we mapped out a way to simplify the visitor journey and make it easier and quicker for potential customers to find the information they wanted. We spotted a golden opportunity to deliver excellence in functionality by combining the website and the quote system – ensuring that Stock N Lock customers could access fast, accurate, and easily digestible information about their requests, alongside empowering the business being able maintain precise records and customer leads.

In the fast-moving space of self-storage, the ability for Stock N Lock to change website content quickly and easily themselves was an essential competent in the challenge mix.

The outcome

The new site functionality delivered a user-friendly journey for both the customers and content managers.  It allowed visitors to access information about storage options and request quotes with ease and speed and allowed the Stock N Lock team flexibility to add content and capture data.

Visually, the new design used space and curated imagery to present a more unified branding and smooth customer experience. Brand colours pop, and an uncluttered layout and clear menu of storage needs is presented (streamed into the categories of personal and business customers – directing visitors to the right area for them).

A ‘call to action’ to request a quote appears on every page, maximising the opportunity for customer conversion.

The new site also included an e-commerce ‘box shop’– facilitating easy sales for storage accessories such as boxes and tape, and helping to deliver a seamless customer experience with items ready and waiting at their storage location.
